Specialist High Skills
Major programs
enable students to customize their high school experience to
suit their interests and talents and prepare for a successful
post secondary transition to college, university, apprenticeship
training or employment. SHSM can make the learning environment
more engaging for students and prepare students to pursue their
career goals. |
The SHSM framework includes several
components: |

- COOP Placements
- Experiential Learning
- Reach Ahead Opportunities
- Certification and Awareness Training
|

| Through partnerships
with local businesses, non-profit organizations and post secondary
institutions, the SHSM students have opportunities to gain various
experiences in their SHSM sector. Students completing the SHSM
requirements receive a unique designation on their Ontario Secondary
Diploma (OSSD) recognizing their achievements. |
